The Graduate Student Mentorship Program is hosted under GradSuccess at Graduate Division and aims to provide mentorship and guidance to incoming first-year graduate students in CHASS & STEM fields. GSMP Peer-Mentors provide academic, social, and wellness resources and mentor 2-4 mentees throughout the academic year (Fall-Spring).

Requirements:

• The GSMP Peer Mentor Orientation is MANDATORY. It will be held in person on Monday, September 18th, 2023. 
• Peer Mentors will be expected to participate in the online Speed Mentoring session of the GSMP Mentee Orientation. This will take place from 3pm-5pm on Wednesday, September 27th, 2023. Peer Mentors must also attend the opening luncheon at the Alumni Center with mentees and faculty mentors. The date of the luncheon is Wednesday, September 27th, 2023.
• Must be available to work approximately 11 hours/month and attend workshops, meetings, and social events.

Eligibility:

• Must be in good academic standing
• Must be available to work Fall 2023 through Spring 2024
• The Peer-Mentor position is a 7% appointment (average of 11 hours/month of mentorship)
• If you are a grant or fellowship recipient, please check if you are eligible to work and/or if you would need to request an exception

Notes:

• If you are applying to an academic year position, you will need to nominate 2 recommenders. They will be contacted to submit a recommendation form. 
• The first recommender must be your P.I./research advisor/committee chair/graduate advisor. If you were to be selected for this position, they would need to approve this appointment before you start your contract with GSMP.
